| Length: 1.5 miles
Difficulty: Moderate/ Difficult
Elevation Gain: 4,800 - 5,800 feet
FS: #3392 Coffin Lookout
|This trail meanders through an old historic natural fire providing
views along the trail. Young noble fir and sub-alpine fir are
scattered along the way. The trail offers panoramic views of the
Cascades, along with wildflower and wildlife viewing. The trail ends
at Coffin Mountain Lookout. The lookout is staffed in the summer, so
don't bother the occupant. The lookout does not provide potable
water, restroom facilities or garbage services.
William Sullivan recommends climbing the nearby Bachelor Mountain Trail instead, because it offers better views of the High Cascades.
